ALBION, Mich. (WOOD) – A county official has resigned after being investigated for drug possession and solicitation of a prostitute.
The managing director of roads for Calhoun and Jackson counties, Jerry Peterson, resigned Friday.
Peterson is being investigated for solicitation of a prostitute and possession of drugs after a traffic stop Tuesday for suspicious driving in Albion.
County officials were notified by police Tuesday about the investigation, according to Kelly Scott, administrator controller for Calhoun County.
Scott says he was immediately put on paid leave. He later verbally resigned after a meeting with Jackson County officials.
