BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WOOD) – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify a woman who turned in winning lottery tickets at a Benton Harbor store that had been stolen during a Grand Haven Township gas station robbery.
The robbery happened in the early morning hours of Aug. 30 at the Express Lane Gas Station at 17200 Robbins Road, according to Capt. Mark Bennett with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. The clerk, who wasn’t hurt in the robbery, was tied up in the back room while two suspects stole money and lottery tickets.
Investigators were able to track the stolen lottery tickets to a store in Benton Harbor where they were turned in by a woman not long after the Grand Haven robbery occurred, Bennett said.
The sheriff’s office released surveillance stills of the woman at the Benton Harbor store in hopes that someone would recognize her.
