GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) ArtPrize brings so much talent to West Michigan, but behind nearly every artist is a dedicated art educator. ArtPrize and the Grand Rapids Art Museum are working together to help make the art competition a learning experience for young and old.
Drop-in Family Activities
Kids and adults can celebrate the creativity and innovation all around Grand Rapids during ArtPrize with hands-on activities every weekend during ArtPrize. Come out for different themes inspired by art at the GRAM. Educators break down the elements of artwork and use them to teach art to children. Drop-in Family Activities are Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Free with general admission.
ART21 Art Educator Workshops
ArtPrize is partnering with ART21 for two free workshops for educators. ART21’s Jess Hamlin and Joe Fusaro will run the workshops, each focusing on the themes and methods of the artists participating in ArtPrize 2014. The deadline to register online is October 2. The workshops are free.
