Man arrested after breaking into home

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A 22-year-old was arrested after officers say he broke into a Kalamazoo home and got away with stolen items.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were called to the 1000 block of Vassar Street on a report of a breaking and entering Tuesday at 8 p.m.

The next day, officers were able to make contact with the suspect and arranged to purchase the stolen property back. Once he arrived at a pre-determined location, he was taken into custody and the property was recovered.

The suspect, a Kalamazoo resident, had prior theft convictions. He is being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail on a charge of Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property over $1,000, Use of Computer to Commit a Crime, and two outstanding warrants.
