EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – An Emmett Township public safety officer went above and beyond the call of duty to help a family in need.

Emmett Township Public Safety Officer Ben Hall was on routine patrol when he pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation.

Once at the car, Hall noticed a small child in the car who was in a seat belt but not in a car seat.

The young mom told Hall she knew she should have her daughter in a car seat, but couldn’t afford one.

Instead of giving her a ticket, Hall had the young mother pull into the parking lot of a nearby Wal-Mart where he went inside and bought a car seat for the young girl.
