MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — Three people were injured during two separate shootings in Muskegon Heights Wednesday evening.
Police were first called to a shooting in the area of Summit and 5th Street around 7:15 p.m. where a 19-year-old man was shot three times.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
A 30-year-old woman who was walking in the area was also hit during the gunfire and suffered a gunshot wound to the legs. Police originally listed her age as 15, but later corrected it. They did not release any information about her condition.
A second shooting occurred around just before 9 p.m. in the 2500 block of 7th street where an 18-year-old man was hit twice. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Muskegon Heights Police have a person of interest in one of the shooting incidents. It’s still unknown if the shootings are related.
