Hospice of Michigan benefits from Nutcracker gala

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOOD) The spirit of the holiday season comes alive with The Grand Rapids Ballet. This year, the ballet will raise the curtain to the brand new world premiere of ‘The Nutcracker”. Under the direction of Grand Rapids Ballet Artistic Director, Patricia Barker, the ballet will feature creative vision of Chris Van Allsburg and Eugene Lee. Chris Van Allsburg is the renowned author of The Polar Express, Zathura, Jumanji and other classics. Eugene Lee is a Tony Award winner, and the Emmy Award winning production designer for NBC’s Saturday Night Live. 

Along with the magic of the ballet, comes a special partnership with Hospice of Michigan. Bring the family and be a part of an American tradition, and help local families and children at Hospice of Michigan. Since it’s inception in 1995-Hospice of Michigan’s pediatric programs have served more than one-thousand children and families. It is the largest hospice provider in the state-serving more than 1,400 patients every day.

Most of the pediatric services are free of charge, which requires funds to be raised to support these programs. Hospice of Michigan provides the only comprehensive list of pediatric services in the state-where The pediatric programs provide families with the tools, services and support they need to help maintain their child’s comfort of body, mind and spirit.
