GOBLES, Mich. (WOOD) — Van Buren County authorities say they checked three times on a dog that people were concerned about and determined it is being properly cared for.
The dog, a corgi-lab mix, lives at a home in the 29000 block of CR 390 in Gobles. Someone who posted about the dog on a Facebook called the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday and said that it had been left outside without food, water or shelter.
The sheriff’s office sent officers to check on the dog three times — Sunday, Monday evening and again Tuesday, all after calls from the same complainant. Each time, officers found the dog was healthy and had adequate food, water and shelter.
The dog’s owner assured officers the dog would be inside during inclement weather. The dog was inside Monday and Tuesday when weather was poor.
“The dog showed no signs of distress or mistreatment,” the sheriff’s office said in a release Tuesday.
