GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) The latest film in “The Hobbit” series is due to be released on December 17. “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” is the final film based on the epic trilogy.
Fans of The Hobbit can enjoy the movie a day before it’s released, while helping a good cause. “Gandalf’s Gala” is a unique fundraiser to support Spectrum Health Hospice and Palliative Care. It will include a strolling dinner featuring eleven local cuisine stands, live music by Peat in the Creel, and the premiere of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
Money raised at the event will support a music therapy program and holistic therapy services for Spectrum Health Hospice and Palliative Care. Music therapy is proven to provide relief to patients and their families and promote quality of life by alleviating distress. A program led by a certified music therapist will provide better access to these benefits for patients receiving treatment through Spectrum Health Hospice and Palliative Care.
Gandalf’s Gala is Tuesday, December 16 at 6 p.m. at Celebration! Cinema North in Grand Rapids. The movie premiere begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $100 each or $350 for four. You can purchase tickets online.
