BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 16-year-old landed himself in trouble after allegedly stealing a pickup truck to see his girlfriend.
Deputies noticed a suspicious vehicle parked partially on the road in the 38000 block of County Road 390 in Bloomingdale Township around 11:50 p.m. Sunday.
While speaking with the 16-year-old driver, a deputy discovered that he had no valid operator’s license.
A 17-year-old female was also in the pickup truck which was confirmed to be stolen out of Allegan County.
Both teens were turned over to their parents.
A copy of the incident is being forwarded to the Van Buren County Prosecutor’s Office requesting charges for Operating a Motor Vehicle with No Valid Operator’s License and Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
