Fire sparks at home in Byron Twp.

BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A home currently being remodeled was damaged in a fire early Monday morning.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Department said a person driving along US-131 saw the flames at a home in the 9100 block of S. Division Avenue in Byron Township around 1:20 a.m. and called for help.

Flames were showing from the roof when emergency crews arrived and the roof later caved in.

Deputies say the home was vacant and no one was injured.

Investigators are still looking into what may have caused the fire.
