GR decked out with old-fashioned Christmas decorations

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Some area of downtown Grand Rapids have been decked out with decorations from decades past.

Downtown Grand Rapids, Inc. and Fubble Entertainment unveiled the old-fashioned Christmas decorations Friday night.

Fubble Entertainment is holding a live taping of a television special titled “Holiday Memories of Grand Rapids” at the Wealthy Street Theater. The public is invited to attend the taping on Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

The special will air on WOOD TV8 on the following dates:

  • Dec. 24 at 7 p.m.
  • Dec. 25 at 5 p.m.
  • Dec. 26 at 11 a.m.

It will also air on WOTV 4 Women on Dec. 26 at 7 p.m.

A recreation of a 16-foot candle that used to in the middle of Fulton Street at Sheldon Avenue downtown was installed in Veteran’s Park on Fulton Street.

The replica candle was lit Friday night.
