BYRON CENTER, Mich. (WOOD) — A house has major damage after a fire ripped through the home Saturday morning.
The fire started just before 2:30 a.m. at a home in the 7000 block of Burlingame Avenue SW in Byron Center.
Authorities on scene told 24 Hour News 8 that a man, woman, cat and dog were able to make it out of the house before crews arrived.
“When we arrived on scene, there was fire coming from the rear of the home and working up the back of the house. Everybody had gotten out of the house, but the home was fully involved,” said Don Nieuwkoop, the Assistant Fire Chief on scene.
No one was injured in the fire.
Neighbors on scene said the family just bought the house in June of this year.
The fire remains under investigation.
