BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) – Gov. Rick Snyder was in Battle Creek Saturday to honor Michigan Air National Guard members.
Gov. Snyder attended the 110th Air Lift Wing Town Hall and Awards Ceremony. The event took place at the Battle Creek Air National guard Base to recognize members of the 110th Attack Wing.
The base has been the center of some controversy regarding it’s participation in the nations drone program.
“It means a continuing presence and growing presence for the guard here which is important and it’s an important national security mission that’s only going to grow in importance,” said Gov. Snyder. “It’s something that’s going to be more and more significant for the entire country. It’s great to have it here in Battle Creek.”
