Holland Township man attacked with pickaxe, bat

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies are searching for two suspects who attacked a Holland Township man with a pickaxe and a baseball bat.

The assault happened Wednesday around 2:30 a.m. at a home in the 400 block of Howard Avenue in Holland Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, a 21-year-old man, and one of the suspects, who is dating the vicitm’s ex-girlfriend, were communicating on Facebook before the suspect and his friend came to the victim’s house, sheriff’s officials said.

The two suspects walked into the victim’s home and started attacking him with the baseball bat and pickaxe, according to authorities. The victim’s father called 911 after trying to break up the fight.

The victim sustained injuries to his head and face and was taken to the hospital where he’s listed in good condition, sheriff’s officials said.

Authorities are still looking for both of the suspects.
