Man gets away from credit union with cash

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) – Police are searching a man who allegedly robbed a credit union in South Haven Friday afternoon.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. at the Consumers Credit Union on Phoenix Road.

Police are describing the suspect as a stocky white man. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hat, sunglasses, gloves, a dark colored Carhart type coat and tan pants.

The suspect was able to get away with some cash and left the scene in an older model white Chevrolet Impala, according to the South Haven Police Department.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect and suspect vehicle are similar to a robbery that occurred in Kalamazoo County on Jan. 5, police said in a news release.
