BYRON CENTER, Mich. (WOOD) Now that January is half over, a lot of people are working to keep up with their New Year’s resolutions — many of which including losing weight. But some people need a little more help when it comes to getting healthy.

Dr. Paul Kemmeter and the Bariatric Surgery team at Mercy Health Saint Mary’s help people get their lives back with weight loss surgery. Patient Kelly Nichols is going through the process right now. She is hoping to have the Sleeve Gastrectomy.  She just finished six months of a physician-supervised diet as required by her insurance so her surgery will be scheduled soon.

Kelly made the decision to have bariatric surgery after attending a weight loss seminar. Mercy Health Saint Mary’s is holding two more seminars coming up:
