Break-in suspect arrested wearing stolen clothing

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A Battle Creek woman was arrested while wearing some of the clothing she had stolen earlier in the day, according to police.

Authorities said the 36-year-old woman broke into two businesses in Battle Creek on Monday by smashing windows with rocks.

Clothing was stolen from the Dollar General on W. Michigan Avenue and Wood Street early Monday. The second break-in occurred a short time later at the Walgreens on 605 North Avenue, where cigarettes were taken.

The female suspect was caught on security cameras and identified by officers who had contact with her in the past.

Police said the suspect was located walking in the area of Caroline Street near Goguac street wearing some of the stolen clothing

The suspect is being held at the Calhoun County Jail on two counts of breaking and entering.
