Victim in deadly crash on Sprinkle Road ID’d

COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Police have identified the victim who was killed in a Tuesday morning car crash on Sprinkle Road in Comstock Township.

The wreck happened around 8:15 a.m. between E. Michigan Avenue and E. Main Street. Police said a northbound SUV lost control on a curve and spun sideways into the southbound lane, where it was T-boned by an oncoming SUV.

Suzanne Lee Martin, 51, of Kalamazoo died in the crash after losing control of her vehicle, according to Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Paul Matyas.

The driver of the other SUV was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police believe weather conditions, including ice, contributed to the crash.

Both directions of Sprinkle Road were shut down for about three hours before re-opening around 11 a.m., according to Kalamazoo County Dispatch.
