EAST LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — East Lansing police are investigating after a Michigan State University student was found dead Thursday evening.

Police went to the 500 block of North Hagadorn Road Thursday where they found John Hawley, 21, of Bloomfield Hills. He was unresponsive and his roommate was giving him CPR when they arrived, according to the East Lansing Police Department

Hawley was transported to Sparrow Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The death is still under investigation but police say there is no evidence of foul play and believe drugs may have been a factor.

A cause of death will be determined from an autopsy and toxicology report.
