Play puts spotlight on Malcolm X

Ebony Road Players

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) A play by a new theater group is turning entertainment into an educational opportunity with their performance of “The Meeting.” Ebony Road Players will perform the play during Black History Month to highlight the work of Malcolm X.

“The Meeting” takes place the night before Malcolm X was assassinated. The characters have a conversation about their values and ideas, which leads to a conflict about what should be done about racial inequality. The play follows that conversation and how they come to terms with one another.

Ebony Road Players will perform on three nights in three locations around Grand Rapids. The play is free to attend, but there is a suggested donation of $20.
