Body found in Vicksburg neighborhood

VICKSBURG, Mich. (WOOD) – The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after residents in a Vicksburg neighborhood found a body in the road Saturday morning.

Neighbors called police around 7:30 a.m. after they found a body lying in the road near Division and Wilson Street.

Undersheriff Paul Matyas confirms that the body of a 44-year-old man was found shirtless. There were no signs of trauma or foul play but deputies are investigating to try and find out why he was there, according to Matyas.

Deputies hope an autopsy schedule for Monday will shed some light on the cause of death.
