LANSING, Mich. (WOOD/AP) — Governor Rick Snyder tweeted Monday morning that he has been released from the hospital.

Gov. Snyder was hospitalized last week after doctors discovered a blood clot in his right leg related to an Achilles tendon injury he suffered a month ago.

His tweet said he had been released from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital near his home in Ann Arbor. He also thanked the doctors, nurses and staff as well as his Twitter followers for the well wishes.

Snyder spokeswoman Sara Wurfel says the governor has some travel and activity restrictions, but was “doing good” and still plans to present his budget proposal to lawmakers on Wednesday.

Snyder tore his Achilles tendon while jogging in Florida while he was on vacation. He’s been in a protective boot and using a scooter.
