GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Mid-Michigan Honor Flight is planning another trip for World War II veterans to travel to Washington D.C.

The flight is scheduled for June 2. The “Tour of Honor” is offered free to the veterans and funded through donations from the public.

24 Hour News 8 went with the Honor Flight last summer. The trip took veterans to the World War II memorial on the National Mall, as well as other stops that marked the service of military women and men across the decades. The trip also included a moving stop at Arlington National Cemetery.
