2 MSP troopers hurt as suspect opens fire on them

NORWAY, Mich. (AP) — State police say two troopers were injured when they came under fire while trying to serve a warrant at a home in the Upper Peninsula.

Iron Mountain state police post commander 1st Lt. Christine Grabowski says the attack happened Wednesday afternoon at a residence in Norway. It’s about 7 miles east-southeast of Iron Mountain.

A statement from Grabowski doesn’t say how seriously the troopers were injured and whether they were struck by gunfire. State police in Lansing said they had no additional information Wednesday night.

Grabowski says the suspect was arrested and is being held in the Dickinson County jail in Iron Mountain. The lieutenant says the suspect wasn’t injured.
