Family escapes burning home in Dorr Twp.

DORR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A family of four managed to escape from their burning home in Dorr Township.

The fire started around 4:40 a.m. Thursday at a home in the 2300 block of 142nd Avenue.

Four fire departments were called in to help battle the flames. As of 6 a.m. firefighters were still putting out hot spots.

142nd Avenue was closed between 23rd and 24th Street due to the fire, but it has since re-opened.

No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is unknown.
