GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Grand Rapids woman who stabbed and killed her boyfriend last year entered a plea Thursday.
Janaya Johnson was in court Thursday for a status conference when she pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
She was originally charged with murder in August 2014 for the stabbing and death of her boyfriend, 33-year-old James Arthur Washington.
Police said that the two were arguing and drinking when Johnson grabbed a knife from the kitchen drawer and stabbed Washington four times.
Johnson’s sentencing will be March 10.
