OLD CHATHAM, N.Y. (WOOD) – Life keeps getting warmer for the cat who has fully recovered after being found frozen on the side of the road.
WTEN reports the cat was reunited with his family who had been looking for him since he went missing Thursday morning. A relative of the family saw the cat on the news and called his owners.
The family have only had the cat for about 6 weeks and believe their son may have accidentally let him out. The cat had traveled over two miles from the family’s home, according to Little Brook Farm’s facebook page.
Around 2 p.m., R.J. Poulter was on Route 13 in Old Chatham, about 25 miles southeast of Albany, when he noticed the cat out of the corner of his eye.
Poulter initially thought the cat was dead because it was covered in snow and ice, but when he realized it was breathing, he had to literally peel the cat off the road because it was frozen and stuck.
The cat was given to Little Brook Farm in Old Chatham. He was warmed by the fire and appears to have fully recovered.
