KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) Curling is one of the oldest sports in the world, invented in medieval Scotland, and remains quite popular today. Some of the best curlers in the country will be in Kalamazoo this weekend for the 2015 Curling National Championships at Wings Stadium.
Curling has become popular in Kalamazoo thanks to the Kalamazoo Curling Club, which boasts more than 100 people. You can try the sport yourself with the club’s Learn to Curl sessions during the Curling National Championships. For $20, you get a 90 minute curling lesson on the ice, including all the equipment you’ll need to try it. Wear warm, loose-fitting clothing and clean soft-soled tennis shoes.
