Power restored to 2,000 customers in Oceana Co.

A power outage in Oceana County is affecting more than 2,000 Consumers Energy customers. (Feb. 20, 2015)

OCEANA COUNTY, Mich. (WOOD) — Power has been restored to more than 2,000 Consumers Energy customers in Oceana County.

The outage occurred just before 5 a.m. Friday and affected around 2,138 customers in Shelby Township, New Era and Grant Township area, according to the Consumers Energy online outage map.

Power was restored by 7:30 a.m. although it’s still unclear what caused the outage.

The outage occurred on the coldest day of the season so far with wind chills in the double digits.
