Police need help identifying suspects in shooting near MSU

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify two suspects in a deadly shooting near Michigan State University earlier this month.

Surveillance images have been released by police showing the two suspects in the Feb. 5 shooting at the Grove Street parking garage in East Lansing.

Michael Anthony Smith, 22, was shot multiple times and later died from his injuries at a hospital. The second victim, a 21-year-old DeWitt Township resident, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police are looking for two suspects in connection with the shootings. The first suspect is described as a black male, 5’9″ tall, between 160 and 185 pounds. The second suspect is described as a black male, 5’11” tall, and approximately 200 pounds.
