GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) The nomination deadline for the 2015 WOOD TV8 Connecting with Community Awards is fast approaching, and it is up to you to nominate the community partnerships.
The Awards, which are in their eighth year, look to highlight outstanding collaborative efforts in the community. Specifically, we are looking for two or more entities using each others’ resources and talents to achieve a common goal with measurable results.
No partnership is too big or too small. If you know a unique, mutually beneficial collaborative effort, we want to hear about it!
To view some specific examples of what we are looking for, you can watch the 2014 Awards here. Last year’s winner was Camp Shout Out, a partnership between speech pathologists, graduate students and a local summer camp for children with fluency disorders.
After the nomination deadline passes, eight finalists will be selected from the field and then highlighted on 24 Hour News 8 on Fridays throughout March and April.
Then on May 14th, we will have the special awards celebration with all the finalists and announce the winner.
The winner will receive its own fully produced 30-second public service announcement that will air for one year on WOOD TV8, WOTV-4, WXSP TV, and EOOD Bounce TV.
The last day to nominate is Friday, February 27, and the process is very simple. Help your favorite partnership get recognized!
