Lab tests indicate Allegan Co. infant did not have Measles

ALLEGAN, Mich. (WOOD) — After more testing, health officials believe a 15-month-old in Allegan County never had the Measles.

The 15-month-old unvaccinated girl was clinically diagnosed with Measles last week, but additional lab tests indicate she did not have the illness.

The Michigan Department of Community Health is waiting on the throat culture results for the final laboratory confirmation.

Preliminary testing was also negative for Measles in the case of an ill infant in Kent County.
