4 departments battle house fire near Cedar Springs

OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Four fire departments responded to a house fire between Cedar Springs and Greenville on Tuesday.

The fire at a house in the 13000 block Harvard Avenue NE in Oakfield Township was called in around 10:15 a.m.

Four fire departments, including those from Oakfield Township and Courtland Township, responded. Fire officials said water had to be trucked in to the house, which is set a short distance back into a wooded area.

Emergency crews cleared the scene around 2:20 p.m.

The structure sustained heavy damage, but no one was hurt.

The cause of the fire was not known Tuesday afternoon.
