GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) For more than 25 years, the Women’s Resource Center has been connecting women in the community with the help they need to gain economic independence. Every year, the team at the Women’s Resource Center honors businesses that join them in that mission.
The annual Pillar Awards started in 1987. The mission is to recognize businesses that make a commitment to improve the workplace for women. That might be by offering flex time, having women in leadership roles, mentoring opportunities, recruiting, and more.
This year’s Pillar Award winners are Baker Holtz, Equity Transportation, and D.A. Blodgett – St. John’s. The Women’s Resource Center is also honoring Heart of West Michigan United Way with the diversity award for its commitment to racial and gender diversity in the workplace.
The Pillar Awards are Wednesday, March 11 from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for networking. It is almost sold out, so get your tickets soon! They are $60 each and are available online.
The Women’s Resource Center has opportunities for volunteering and donating. If you’re interested in helping, visit their website.
