GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was arrested after threatening his girlfriend with a sword and later refusing to surrender to police.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. Friday at a home in the 400 block of Elliot Avenue in Grand Haven.

The victim fled the home with two children, one of whom the couple had together.
