WOOD TV8 honored as MAB Station of the Year

LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — WOOD TV8 has again been awarded the title of Station of the Year by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.

The title was announced Wednesday evening at an annual MAB event in Lansing. This is the 12th time in 14 years that WOOD has received the honor.

Also at the event, WOOD TV8 received several awards in specific categories.

  • Breaking News Story: Coverage of the Fifth Third Ballpark fire (24 Hour News 8 staff)
  • Commercial: Custer Worklab (John Van Doorne, Nick Smith)
  • New Media: Google Glasses at the Fifth Third River Bank Run (Casey Jones)
  • Mini-documentary or Series: The abuse case surrounding Jamarion Lawhorn (Ken Kolker)
