Meet the author behind a powerful story

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) March is Reading Month and if you want a good read, pick up a book by Grand Rapids author Barbara Rylko-Bauer.

Rylko-Bauer wrote, “A Polish Doctor in the Nazi Camps.” The story is a personal narrative of her mother, who was a doctor to Jewish prisoners in camps in Nazy Germany. It also follows her and the challenges she faced while rebuilding her life after that.

Rylko-Bauer will be sharing her story at two free community events. The first is Thursday, March 12 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Grand Rapids Public Library. The second is Thursday, March 19 from 12:30 to 1:30 at Wege Center at Aquinas College.

“A Polish Doctor in the Nazi Camps” is available for purchase in Grand Rapids at both Barnes & Noble locations and at Schuler Books on 28th Street.
