A SUV hangs from retaining wall after a suspected drunk driver crashed over it. (March 12, 2015)

BANGOR, Mich. (WOOD) — A suspected drunk driver crashed over a concrete retaining wall early Thursday morning.

Deputies responded to an alley behind the 200 block of W. Monroe Street in Bangor around 1 a.m. where they discovered a 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer hanging over the retaining wall after hitting a building.

Police were able to identify the driver as a 35-year-old man. He had a valid warrant for his arrest out of Van Buren County and deputies said he appeared to be intoxicated.

The suspect resisted arrest, but was eventually taken into custody.

He is being held at the Van Buren County Jail on several charges including operating while intoxicated and resisting and obstructing a police officer.
