CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 13-year-old girl was airlifted to the hospital after police said she was stabbed multiple times by her 15-year-old brother.

The stabbing happened around 1:15 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 8500 block of Grainery Rd., S.E in Caledonia Township.

Police on scene told 24 Hour News 8 that the 15-year-old called 911 after stabbing his sister. Their dad was at work when the stabbing occurred.

“A lot of the neighbors here said man this is really sad but not surprising,” said Steve Murad who lives in the neighborhood.

Not surprising because neighbors said the 15-year-old had made threats to other kids in the neighborhood in the past.

“You know they have that brother sister spat, obviously we all do when we are younger, but this is over the edge this is ridiculous,” said Murad.

Murad lives just a few houses away from where the stabbing happened and has six kids of his own. He said the girl would often be at the home over the summer playing with his kids.

“13-years-old, whole life ahead of her, really uplifting, good girl, funny, caring, takes care of my children, my little babies, good girl,” Murad told 24 Hour News 8.

Police said the brother was arrested and is being held at the Kent County Juvenile Facility.

The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.

“Our prayers are with her we hope, when you call Aero Med in it’s never normally a good thing. Hopefully God and everyone takes care of her and she survives,” said Murad.
