HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — A former Fruitport Township police officer has admitted to driving drunk with his infant son in the car.

Timothy Thompson pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated with an occupant under the age of 16.

Thompson was arrested in November 2014 after being pulled over in Coopersville. His 3-month-old son was in the backseat. Court documents show his blood-alcohol content (BAC) level at the time was .14. Michigan’s legal limit to drive is .08.

He was then fired from his job at the Fruitport Township Police Department.

Thompson is scheduled to be sentenced on April 14.
