Brush fire after controlled burn

A field fire northwest of Clarksville. (March 24, 2015)

BOSTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A controlled burn that got out of control led to a brush fire northwest of Clarksville Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was in the area of Hastings and Portland roads, south of I-96 in Ionia County.

About 50 acres and a shed burned.

Firefighters knocked down the fire before 6 p.m.

There have been a few brush fires in the past few days, but rain is on the way, and that should decrease risk.
