GR City Commission updated on plans for downtown

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids City Commission received an update on an ambitious, long term plan for downtown on Tuesday.

The project is designed to develop strategies that will created more housing, recreation and other economic catalysts for downtown.

The Grand River is the focal point for discussions.

“The river is a real game changer,” said Scott Bishop, one of the consultants on the project.

Plans are in the early, strategy building stages.
