Man bound over in grandfather’s murder case

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A man who is accused of killing his grandfather has been ordered to stand trial.

Tuesday, Trent Humphreys-McPherson waived his preliminary hearing and was bound over to Circuit Court for trial, though a trial date has not yet been set.

Humphreys-McPherson has been charged with open murder in the death of 71-year-old Dennis McPherson.

The body of Dennis was found in the bedroom of his Muskegon Township home in January. Autopsy results show he suffered multiple skull fractures.

Trent’s girlfiend, Kerri Sue Crawford, has also been charged with accessory after the fact to a felony and lying to police during an investigation.

Humphreys-McPherson was also charged with lying to police during a felony investigation.
