Power restored to 1K customers in Kzoo Co.

A power outage in the Augusta area affecting more than 1,000 Consumers Energy customers. (March 25, 2015)

AUGUSTA, Mich. (WOOD) — Power has been restored to more than 1,000 Consumers Energy customers in Kalamazoo County.

The outage occurred around 5:40 a.m. Wednesday and affected 1,062 customers near the Augusta and Galesburg areas. Power was restored around 7 a.m.

Galesburg-Augusta Middle School was closed Wednesday as a result of the outage. The high school held classes as regularly scheduled.

Consumers Energy told 24 Hour News 8 they don’t know the exact cause of the outage but believe it was an issue with a larger transmission line.
