GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park welcomed its nine-millionth guest Wednesday morning.
Sarah Benner of Clarksville was the nine millionth visitor. She received a gift basket with a one year pass to Meijer Gardens as well as other gifts.
Benner says she was there to see the Butterflies are Blooming exhibit with her son.
“We just love the beauty of it, even walking outside is a nice place to walk and take your time and stroll. Even the indoor gardens, we come during the winter sometimes because there is so much stuff to see,” said Benner.
Meijer Garden officials say they have seen higher than average crowds this year.
In 2014, Meijer Gardens welcomed over 625,000 visitors – making it the most successful year on record.
