2 men show up at hospital with gunshot wounds

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Two men were hospitalized after a shooting in Grand Rapids early Sunday.

Officers responded to the 800 block of Ballard Street SE east of Eastern Avenue after getting a report of gunshots in the area. When they arrived on scene around 12:30 a.m., they didn’t ‘t find any victims. The officers did find evidence that a shooting took place.

A short time later, two 18-year-old male victims arrived at a Grand Rapids hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The victims told police they were in a vehicle when the shooting happened and that they were shot by unknown subjects who fled the area in a dark-colored car.

No one was in custody as of Sunday afternoon. The case remained under investigation.
