The East Lansing Police Department said in a release that the crowd in the area of 1000 Waters Edge Drive was initially peaceful, but that a fire was started within about half an hour.
Ten people were then arrested for disorderly conduct, police said, including unlawfully remaining with in 300 feet of an open fire and wrongfully propelling objects.
Cedar Village Apartments is located along Waters Edge Drive. It has been the site of many disturbances over the years linked to Michigan State sports performances. There were also arrests near the complex after the Spartans’ Friday night win over Oklahoma.
The crowd started to disperse after the arrests, police said. They did not have to use any chemical crowd management devices.
The Spartans beat Louisville 76-70 in overtime to advance to the Final Four of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament for the first time since 2010.
