Mary Free Bed opens new rehabilitation facility

Patient moves into new Mary Free Bed building

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) A very big move in health care was made over the weekend when the doors of a brand new resource for rehabilitation opened in Grand Rapids. Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital opened a new rehabilitation facility off Jefferson Avenue and Wealthy Street SE in Grand Rapids.

The new building will allow the hospital to serve 3,000 more people each year. The facility has 167 private rooms with sleeping accommodations, easy-access bathrooms, natural lighting, and new technology. The hospital also added 350 new nurses, therapists, and IT employees.

Mary Free Bed is holding programs to help patients live better lives. The Cancer and Wellness Program is a 12-week program from April 13 until July 6. It will focus on exercise and nutrition. There is no charge for patients. To register, call Stephanie at (616) 840-8186.

“Living Beyond Your Pain” is a six-week program from April 15 to May 20. The course is $395. Register by Friday, April 3, by calling (616) 840-8070.
