Play Pac-Man on Google Maps

Playing Pac-Man on a Google Map of downtown Grand Rapids. (March 31, 2015)

(MEDIA GENERAL) – Google has found yet another way to keep you on Google.

You can play the 1980s game Pac-Man on your own streets using Google Maps.

All you have to do is go to, find a view with lots of streets, and click on the Pac-Man icon in the bottom left corner. There’s also a blue Pac-Man pin you can click on.

Your map will change to a game board and you can start playing. If you don’t see the Pac-Man tile, try making the view bigger so there’s more room to play.

If you’re on your smartphone or tablet, open the Google Maps app. Search for a place you think Pac-Man might be and when you find a good location touch the Pac-Man button. Then start playing.

Just watch out for ghosts.

Also, be aware that Google has a history of playing April Fool’s Day jokes, so it’s likely this capability will go away soon.
